Coreless Alternator with Power Tracking Regulator

Wind and water powered alternators are usually designed for the specific application.

Wind and water power have highly non-linear torque input curves. This means that the alternator must have low (or no) cogging to allow low speed operation. It also means that the power regulation must be handled carefully.

When the energy available depends on the wind or water speed, the goal of the electronics is to extract the maximum power available. As a result, wind power and water power regulation electronics are usually more complex than standard regulation electronics.

We have designed many alternators and power electronics for this market.
